Signs of an Improving Job Market: Positive Signs for the New Year

There was several stories disseminated in major news outlets today that discussed the significant drop in unemployment claims, giving rise to hope for an improved market for not only new graduates, but for more experienced workers.  In fact at a meeting we attended in December with leading recruiting executives, all discussed plans to add positions and increase hiring in early 2011. A recent Linked In poll also suported that a large number of employers intend to add headcount in the next 3-6 months.  Keep in mind that there will be a demand for a variety of different types of jobs, from very technical and specialized positions to opportunities that require broad knowledge, strong communication skills and the ability to be flexible within a fast paced global economy. Let's hope that the new year brings hope, good health and prosperity for all.
